What it is

M.A.C.A.M. is an open-air museum of contemporary art located in Maglione. There are no tickets or visiting hours, as the artworks are painted on the town walls. The artworks, created by a variety of modern and contemporary Italian artists, use many different media. Many of the pieces are done using the fresco painting technique.

The Museum is located in Maglione, a small farming village in the Piedmont countryside.

It is just 50 km from Turin and 20 km from Ivrea, and it can be easily reached by car or public transportation.

Fresco Laboratory

The Fresco Laboratory was a unique, free workshop offered to students from Italian Academies of Fine Arts. Known for its intense and in-depth training, it provided a singular apprenticeship experience in Italy for the selected artists.

Though the workshop is no longer active, it allowed visitors to observe young artists at work during its operation.
